When Adam Grimm blasted onto the wildlife art scene in 2000 winning the intensely competitive 2000-01 Millennium Federal Duck Stamp Art Competition he was only 21 years old – the youngest artist to have ever won a federal or state duck stamp competition. His beautiful entry of a drake mottled duck stretching his wings in the early light was awarded a nearly perfect score.

Adam Grimm has since gone on to win numerous art contests and has even been awarded the National Turkey Stamp contest in 2006. He currently has close to a dozen stamp wins under his belt and is considered to be one of America’s leading new artists.

Adam has always loved to draw and began showing artistic ability at the age of three. By the age of 13 he was selling out of his art at shows. Adam has been hunting by his father’s side since he was very young. During this time he began building an appreciation for nature. He has spent many hours studying and hunting in the marshes bordering Lake Erie. Adam has also studied martial arts for many years and has earned a black belt. Studying martial arts has afforded him the discipline necessary to sit and paint for hours.

As a freshman at Elyria Catholic High School, he began displaying his artwork at the annual Ohio Decoy Collectors and Carvers Association in Westlake, Ohio. They were instrumental in supporting Adam in his new art career.

Adam currently resides in Elyria, Ohio with his wife Janet and daughter Madison.
